Kotor 2 Dialogue Skipping

Dec 30, 2014 - KOTOR2 was rushed out the door so badly it's a miracle it's playable at. KOTOR 2 longer then a few hours, it starts skipping dialogue scenes. On my first play through, always. I tend to skip dialogue on. Maybe about 50% through the game I start skipping if I have subtitles to read.

  1. Kotor 2 Influence Walkthrough

I just recently started playing Kotor2.

Dialogue

In the beginning, when you're in the medbay and the player controls the android, there was the chance to skip the prologue and I took it.

Since I'm not very advanced in the game, however, I was thinking about restarting to gain possible boons I might have missed, like items, XP or force points.

Was there anything of value I missed?

Also, if there are there any other skippable scenes in the game, the questions count for those as well.

Anything gained in the Prologue is lost. It is merely a tutorial.

I cannot consider later skippable scenes, because there is a lot of variation and complexity when it comes to benefits and drawbacks.

Note: There won't be any scenes past the Prologue that ask if you want to skip it. However, there could be scenes that you miss as you play the game, in which case, you may be missing out on loot, experience, or an ambush.

Edit: npst pointed out that there is a Steam achievement for completing the Prologue if you play KotOR2 on Steam.

Kotor 2 mira romance

Okay so with the new Star Wars out, I'm trying my hand at Knights of the Old Republic again.

Tried the Steam version. Crashed. Took about 2 hours worth of scanning the forums to find out I needed to download 2 or 3 3rd party applications and change a bunch of launch options just to get it to run in 800x600, with all graphical options set to either 'off' or 'low' and all movies/videos are disabled .

So that's shit.

Tried GOG. Crashed immediately. Took a further two hours to find a patch that does technically change my resolution to my natural 1920x1200, but it throws all the on-screen boxes, like items, health, character, options, all over the place. Didn't even have the entire options bar on screen.
And even then all graphical options have to be at low or off.

So that's slightly more runny shit.

Kotor 2 Influence Walkthrough

Basically what I've learned is that there is no version better than the Xbox + compatibility out there. Anyone else found this? Or is there a 3rd distributor that somehow managed to patch a version that doesn't crash, and is actually updated to a modern era? Or is it all just 3rd party patches than fix 1/15+ problems?!
