- The more cookie-cutter the artist, the higher your chances are of contributing anything more than 1 line of a hook. And even then, it’s still pretty low in Rap music
- If you want recognition for your work outside of the small circle of people around you, do not go into ghostwriting for Rap artists.
- Most importantly, it’s a process of gaining trust and respect if you want longevity in the industry and potentially higher-level recognition

That friend’s brother moved to LA from Indy and within 6 months was contributing to parts of the hook on a Jamie Foxx/T-Pain joint (“Blame It”) and was making ridiculously good money relative to those contributions.
