'The blue notes attracted me and the songs had a very suggestive rhythm built into the melody. It's enough just to play them as they are. Dear old stockholm sheet trumpet notes. I didn't want to embellish them in any way.'

I've found the Encyclopedia Of German Tanks Of World War Two by Peter Chamberlain, and Hilary Doyle to be excellent, with plenty of detail - specifically on gun performance up to 2km witha variety of rounds, details of armor thickness and slope angle. I only wish the vehicles were rated for off road speed..
On the other hand I've not found anything remotely as good for Soviet or Allied armor. Russian Tanks of World War II by Tim Bean and Will Fowler is close, but somehow doesn't include armor slope angles when describing armor thickness! Also gun performance is very low resolution, with details only for 500m, and 1,000m.
I've looked at several other obvious books on Amazon, but can't tell from the reviews or book descriptions if they do contain more detailed info.
Online I've had no better luck. I've found sources like www.wwIIvehicles.com, but they have incomplete info, often contradictory, and often in contradictory formats. I've been able to fill in the holes by studying pictures and schematics of the vehicles and inferring armor angles, but the variance in their reported data for the same vehicle can sometimes be 2x, which makes me very anxious about their accuracy.
What do real game designers use? I'm looking at folks like Chad, Uwe, and Jim Day. What sources are they tapping to make things like Fighting Formations, Conflict of Heroes and Panzer?
Barring that does anybody know of any other good reference material I've over looked? There's the Zaloga bible on Soviet tanks, but they run quite a bit even used, and I don't want to splurge unless I know it'll give me the details that I'm looking for. I could also buy several more vehicle specific books, but again it's a big investment unless I know the book has got what I want.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
