To update device software on a Huawei running EMUI 3.0 proceed to do the following: Enter your settings menu. Scroll all the way down. Click on 'Updater'. Click on 'Check for updates'. Follow the prompts if neccesary. Use a stable Wi-Fi connection for downloading the update as these updates can be fairly large. Huawei Phone not connecting to Wifi. Try rebooting the phone by simply selecting the restart option and check if the device is connected to wifi. If this does not serve the purpose, try soft resetting the device. Step 7: Forget the wifi network on phone, reboot the phone and the router and log back into the network.
Update, October 2 2018 (01:34AM): It looks like Mate 10 Pro owners in Europe will have to wait a little longer to get Android Pie. The original source for the device’s Pie roll-out mistook a beta update for a stable OTA update, according to XDA‘s Mishaal Rahman.
He also notes that the “log” term at the end of the cited build number is usually used for beta releases only.

We still don’t have any word from Huawei on the matter, but it certainly seems like Mate 10 Pro users are in for a longer wait. Hopefully the company delivers the update sooner rather than later, as companies like Essential and HMD have already been able to deliver a fresh slice of Pie.
Original article, October 1 2018 (02:34AM): Huawei isn’t the fastest when it comes to system updates, but it looks like the company is stepping up with Android Pie. According to GetDroidTips, the Chinese colossus has pushed out a Pie-based update to the Mate 10 Pro.
The update is bundled with the EMUI 9.0 Android skin and has the build number 9.0.0.108, the website claims. The OTA is reportedly being pushed out to Mate 10 Pro users in Europe, but will “soon” spread to other markets.
EMUI 9.0 packs plenty of features, such as the Google Lens-inspired HiVision feature, GPU Turbo 2.0 for better performance in selected games, and a biometric-enabled password manager (seen below). The Chinese brand is also touting faster app launch speeds and smoother system performance with the new skin.
Android Pie should also bring a few new features to the Mate 10 Pro, such as digital wellbeing, wind down functionality, Google’s take on gesture navigation, and adaptive brightness. It’s unclear whether Huawei will adopt Pie’s adaptive battery feature, as EMUI already has its own power-saving features.

News of a European roll-out means other regions can’t be far behind, so sit tight if you’ve got a Mate 10 Pro in the U.S. or elsewhere. Hopefully the P20 series and budget Huawei phones aren’t far behind in receiving a Pie-based update, either.

There’s no word on when the release will arrive. All we know is that it’s en route and is set to bundle all of the changes included in the firm’s EMUI 8.0 user interface, which we’ve criticised on more than one occasion, as well as a number of bug fixes.
It’s safe to assume that Android 8.0 will be the last firmware update the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus receive, as both handsets are now nearing the end of their two-year support window, meaning Android P – codenamed Pistachio Ice Cream – is likely off the cards.
Android 8.0 Oreo bundles a number of useful features, including support for Picture-in-Picture (PiP), notification channels, adaptive icons and circular emoji, in addition to a plethora of much-needed stability improvements and an exciting new Easter egg.
At the beginning of the month, competitor Samsung recommenced its Oreo rollout for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in the United States, after it was forced to halt its operation while it explored various reports of the firmware stimulating various reboot issues.

LG also started distributing the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade for the Verizon-branded variant of the LG V30 earlier this month, with some claiming that it will reach the unlocked model in the coming weeks, and other carrier-locked models soon thereafter.
