* Great software
Cons: * None, if expectations aren" t="" unreasonable.="">
Overall Review: NAS surveilance solutions aren't for rugged or warm environments. Don't use them there.
If you need to get a camera setup with less than 200 fps, you're on a tight budget and on a time crunch (or any two), this setup is amazing.
Pros: Works with inexpensive cameras
Cons: Way to expensive and falls into the crippleware category.
Overall Review: I only need to add one more camera for a total of two. I already had sunk costs with this system. If I were starting from scratch. I would look elsewhere.
Pros: The server works great
Cons: These per-camera licenses are horribly expensive.
Overall Review: Synology should ship with fully enabled software - not limited crippleware.
Pros: Pretty complete package.. as good as most any other DVR system on the market. Try the free, built in 1-camera license first to see if you like it.
It's hard to criticize base on features only.
Cons: EXPENSIVE! Yeah, other comparisons were made to THE most expensive systems you can buy BUT I assure you, there are alternatives that cost less than 1 license and supports 24+ cameras with MORE features than this one.
.. and runs on an inexpensive Windows platform.
Overall Review: The DiskStation itself rocks! I store 100's of gigs of surveillance video using Blue Iris.
